Haldir was and elf of Lorien who was trusted by Celeborn to lead a small group of elves to protect the woodland borders of Lorien facing Moria. Shortly before the Battle Of Helm's Deep Galadriel and Elrond tasked him with leading a garasson of elves to assist the Riders Of Rohan in defending Hem's Deep. SDurring the Battle Haldir and all of his elven forces were slan by Orcs much to Aragorn and Legolas' dimay.
